ABOUT ME

I am a geotechnical engineering educator and researcher at the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Department of University of Cincinnati. I have an extensive research and practical experience in geotechnical and infrastructure engineering including geotechnical risk and reliability, risk and resilience assessment of civil infrastructure, underground excavation and tunneling, foundation engineering (including energy piles), slope stability, earth dams and levees, soil/rock-structure interaction, and soil liquefaction with over 70 refereed journal and conference papers. I have taught various courses in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering materials, and engineering mechanics. Prior to my current position, I served as geotechnical faculty at University of the District of Columbia and Montana Tech. I also worked as a Geotechnical Engineer at Geotechnical and Tunneling Technical Excellence Center of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff on a variety of tunneling, excavation, levee, and embankment projects.
